English field pastors receive tablets

English Field, Mesoamerica Region

A few years ago, the Mesoamerica Region's English Field articulated a vision for the field. That vision included several holiness libraries so pastors could access ministry and training books. Leaders also came up with the plan so each pastor from the 12 districts could have this library in their hands on a tablet.

God recently answered the leaders' prayer for the 250 pastors on the field. After making a phone call about some gently used tablets and discovering the price, exactly 250 tablets were purchased. The English Field — in partnership with the Wesleyan-Holiness Digital Library, Holiness Legacy, and Redland Church of the Nazarene — was able to pre-load the tablets with a host of books and materials for the pastors to use.

"It has been exciting to see how churches, Sunday School classes, and individuals across the United States have donated so pastors who might never have the opportunity to have a tablet, now have one," said Darin Pound, Belize district superintendent. "The tablets are making an impact in their ministries and the libraries have opened up a wealth of knowledge for them. Thank you to all those who have given and helped with the tablet project for the English Field. You are a blessing!"

The following are thank you notes from pastors who now have a tablet:

Greetings! I want to take this opportunity to express thanks for the tablet I received earlier. I do take note that it was through your kind instrumentality that this was done. This device has enhanced my own pastoral ministry through the online resources, as well as through the ease to which it affords me greater control over many activities all in the palm of my hand.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to all those who helped me in obtaining this very necessary piece of tool for ministry. The tablet will assist me in communicating with the District and the region now. We are better equipped, this tablet comes to us with many of the necessary and relevant forms we use and will enhance the ability to be more effective in our service.

Regards,

Rev. Enfield Gordon
Belize District

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Thank you for providing this tablet, this is a God-sent item I needed so much to do my pastoral work.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Rick Sierra

I am grateful that such thought of generosity was extended to my colleagues and I as we serve together in the Master's vineyard. While I am still learning more each day about the device and all that it offers, the opportunity for greater access, efficiency and effectiveness is wonderful.
